STARFISH SEABED IMAGING SYSTEM

StarFish is a revolutionary low cost high definition side scan sonar which produces near photographic quality images of the seabed. Built to a unique, innovative design StarFish is currently the smallest towfish side scan sonar on the market measuring less than 15 inches long! Utilising technology developed from the professional underwater survey industry, StarFish makes hi-tech seabed imaging accessable to anyone.

Simply tow the StarFish side scan sonar from a boat or any other vessel, large or small, to capture real-time digital images of the seafloor below. StarFish is truly 'Plug and Play' connecting to any Windows based PC or laptop via a USB connection. The simple intuitive StarFish Scanline software makes seabed imaging extremely easy for novices and experienced side scan sonar users alike. Small, light and very rugged, StarFish can easily be deployed and operated by a single person from the smallest of vessels in the most remote locations.

StarFish Seabed Imaging System consists of the StarFish 450F Side Scan Sonar, StarFish 450 Top Box and StarFish Scanline software. The Sonar connects to the Top Box. The Top Box then connects to the power source and any Windows based PC or Laptop via a USB connection to display, record and playback digital sonar images using StarFish Scanline software (see diagram and annotations).

The unique, revolutionary StarFish design increases hydrodynamic stability of the sonar and prevents rise under tow conditions to produce higher quality sonar images. The latest digital electronics and acoustic CHIRP signal processing techniques used by StarFish combine to offer far better image and range resolution compared to conventional fixed-frequency side scan sonars.

The superior high quality images produced by StarFish make it a very affordable low-cost side scan sonar option compaired to many of the larger expensive commercial side scan sonar systems.
